November 2022 Monthly Investment Report

It is almost the end of the year again, this year has been really rough for the portfolio. It looks like we are able to achieve a little portfolio growth this year, though, so that is really good. Especially when taking into account that the SP500 is down ~16.5% and bitcoin is down ~64%. Hopefully, we can end the year on a high note, let’s see where we end up next month.

Capital Growth Portfolio

We saw a 4.10% increase in portfolio value in November, the second biggest monthly growth this year.

Portfolio value: €6672.66
Deposits: €100
Growth/decline: €358.93

Retirement Fund Portfolio

The retirement fund is up 8.01% this month, stocks are really carrying the portfolio this month.

Portfolio value: €2872.35
Deposits: €100
Growth/decline: €305.66

Index Fund & Stock Portfolio

I bought one position this month, which was another Aerospace company; I now hold Virgin Galactic, Blade Air Mobility and Rocket Lab.

  • 75 Rocket Lab USA Inc (RKLB) at $4,71

So I bought even more stocks, now sitting at 82.1% allocation. I’m eyeing more Salesforce stock and if that doesn’t become a buy in December, I will look at some of the ETFs I already hold.

Portfolio value: €8252.2
Deposits: €200
Cash: -€3043.75
Passive income: €11.99
Real Growth/Decline: -€172.43

Ideal allocation (December 2021):

  • Stocks: 75%
  • ETFs & Cash: 25%

If you want to start investing as well, the platform I’m investing on is DeGiro, but you can also invest on other platforms like eToro.

P2P Lending Portfolio

Steady growth as always, 0.66% this month. The passive income is always around €5.

Still paused any further deposits. Once I reach €1000 on this platform and €500 on EstateGuru, I will diversify platforms. The last 2 years have been really nice on Mintos.

Portfolio value: €812.33
Deposits: €0
Passive income: €5.32

Portfolio value: €386.51
Deposits: €0
Passive income: €0.75

Last month, I started investing in trees. I was looking for a way to reduce my carbon footprint while increasing my portfolio value. In the first couple of years, there is no ROI because the tree needs to grow. The project’s duration is 20 years, with an average ROI of 7.8%. This seems pretty good. I’ve started with one tree per month at €22.50. I might scale if I feel good about the platform or if new projects are launched.

Portfolio value: €45
Deposits: €22.50

Crypto Portfolio

November was a really bad month because of the FTX collapse. BlockFi also went bankrupt, I did use the product for a while, but I withdrew my money once Celsius collapsed. The portfolio is down 23.55%, my allocation percentage is dropping fast so I will probably invest a little more this month.

The rest of the assets are still growing slowly because of the interest. Swissborg is giving me a 4.5% yield on my bitcoin and 7.75% on my USDC.

I also want to remind everyone, especially now that crypto is quickly appreciating in value, how important it is to keep the bulk of your crypto off the exchanges you are trading on. I keep mine on a Ledger.

Portfolio value: €2633.8
Bitcoin value: 0.060587573
Ethereum value: 1.01146646
Deposits: €200
Withdrawals: €0
Growth/decline: -€549.92

Total Portfolio Overview

Portfolio value: €22057.3
Deposits: €622.50
Withdrawals: €0
Passive income*: €18.06
Total growth/decline: €169.22
Asset growth/decline: -€453.28

* This only includes P2P & Dividend

Ideal allocation (January 2022):

  • ETF & Bonds: 45%
  • Stocks: 25%
  • Cash: 0-5%
  • P2P-lending: 5%
  • Crypto: 20%

Ideas for December

In the coming months, it is time to add some to the cash position and invest a little more in crypto if the crypto portfolio doesn’t turn around. This will be needed to keep the 20% allocation.
