December 2022 Monthly Investment Report

Last year we didn’t see a Christmas rally for the markets; it was a really bad ending to the year. The portfolio value was roughly the same as in January, which is quite disappointing. However, I increased all my positions, so once the market starts rallying again, we should see more gains than in 2021.

Capital Growth Portfolio

The Saxo portfolio is down 5.54%, the second-worst month of the year.

Portfolio value: €6402.87
Deposits: €100
Growth/decline: -€268.79

Retirement Fund Portfolio

The retirement fund is down 4.63% in December; it looks like stocks are doing a little bit better than other assets if we compare it to the Saxo portfolio.

Portfolio value: €2839.34
Deposits: €100
Growth/decline: -€33.01

Index Fund & Stock Portfolio

I bought one position this month. Salesforce stock hit one of my buy levels. I will keep DCAing this position.

  • 2 Salesforce (CRM) at $128,87

Stock allocation is down a little, 81.2%, which means my stocks are doing worse than my ETFs. Not good, but I bought them long-term, so there is nothing to worry about yet. I haven’t changed my view on any of these stocks.

Portfolio value: €7651.16
Deposits: €500
Cash: -€2562.95
Passive income: €25.12
Real Growth/Decline: -€1101.04

Ideal allocation (December 2021):

  • Stocks: 75%
  • ETFs & Cash: 25%

If you want to start investing, the platform I’m investing on is DeGiro, but you can also invest on other platforms like eToro.

Semmie Portfolio

Portfolio value: €246.94
Deposits: €0
Growth/decline: -€9.97

P2P Lending Portfolio

Mintos

Steady growth, as always, 0.56% this month. The passive income is always around €5.

Still paused any further deposits. Once I reach €1000 on this platform and €500 on EstateGuru, I will diversify platforms. The last 2 years have been nice on Mintos.

Portfolio value: €816.88
Deposits: €0
Passive income: €4.55

EstateGuru

I’m currently invested in 6 projects on EstateGuru with a 9-11% interest rate.

Portfolio value: €388.68
Deposits: €0
Passive income: €2.17

If you sign up using my affiliate link, we will both receive a 0,5% bonus on all the investments done during the first 90 days of your registration on all the investments that move to funded status.

Corekees

Recently, I started investing in trees. I was looking for a way to reduce my carbon footprint while increasing my portfolio value. In the first couple of years, there is no ROI because the tree needs to grow. The project’s duration is 20 years, with an average ROI of 7.8%. This seems pretty good. I started with one tree per month at €22.50. I might scale if I feel good about the platform or if new projects are launched.

Portfolio value: €67.50
Deposits: €22.50

Crypto Portfolio

Another bad month for crypto, this month, we see a 12.55% decrease of the portfolio. I invested another €200, I’m looking to improve my positions in the coming months/years to prepare better for another uptrend.

The rest of the assets are still growing slowly because of the interest. Swissborg is giving me a 4.5% yield on my bitcoin and 7.75% on my USDC.

I also want to remind everyone how important it is to keep most of your crypto off the exchanges you are trading on. I keep mine on a Ledger.

Portfolio value: €2503.32
Bitcoin value: 0.063792703 (+5.29%)
Ethereum value: 1.01147558 (+0.03%)
Deposits: €200
Withdrawals: €0
Growth/decline: -€130.48

Total Portfolio Overview

Portfolio value: €21039.45
Deposits: €622.50
Withdrawals: €0
Passive income*: €31.84
Total growth/decline: -€1017.85
Asset growth/decline: -€1640.35

* This only includes P2P & Dividend

Ideal allocation (January 2022):

  • ETF & Bonds: 45%
  • Stocks: 25%
  • Cash: 0-5%
  • P2P-lending: 5%
  • Crypto: 20%

Ideas for January

In the coming months, it is time to add some to the cash position and invest a little more in crypto if the crypto portfolio doesn’t turn around. This will be needed to keep the 20% allocation.
