August 2020 Monthly Investment Report

Investment Portfolio Overview August 2020

Today is the first day of my 3-week holiday, which I’m looking forward to. I will be going on two trips, one to Eifel, Germany for a long weekend and the second for a week to a Landal park in the Netherlands. Our options were quite limited due to the pandemic, but the kids love the parks with all the playgrounds and the huge swimming pool.

This month my girlfriend started investing as well, which is really cool. In the Netherlands, we have an investing app called Semmie, which is a daughter company of Binckbank. You get a nice starting bonus of €15, once you invest only €50, which already is 30% gains without doing anything.

Index Fund & Stock Portfolio

I just increased my cash position a little this month; I’m waiting for some good entry points in the tech sector, almost everything is trading at an all-time high, unfortunately. It can still go higher, but it doesn’t feel right to enter the tech market right now!

Portfolio value: €1728.51
Deposits: €200
Passive income: €0
Real Growth/Decline: €-53.53

If you want to start investing as well, the platform I’m investing on (DeGiro) currently has a long waiting list, so if you want to start now you should check out eToro.

Semmie Portfolio

So I only started using this investing app to enjoy the €15 signup bonus, my girlfriend also received €15 because I joined using her referral link. The fees of the app are quite decent; they are only a little higher than a the Binck Forward product I am using. The yearly fee is 0,7%, and it has a fund cost of 0,24%. The thing that is really cool is they only invest in socially responsible funds; my small portfolio is currently invested in the following funds and bonds:

UBS ETF (LU) MSCI EMU Socially Responsible
ACTIAM Duurzaam Index Aandelenfonds Pacific
ACTIAM Duurzaam Index Aandelenfonds Wereld
ACTIAM Duurzaam Index Vastgoedfonds Europa
iShares € Corp Bond 0-3yr ESG UCITS ETF
UBS ETF (LU) MSCI Emerging Markets Socially Responsible

Still researching some stocks, looking into the EV sector now. This includes stocks like Tesla (TSLA), Nio (NIO), Li Auto (LI), Xpeng (XPEV), Nikola Corp (NKLA) and Spartan Energy Acquisition Corp (SPAQ).
